Question by chris: What do i do if they recover my stolen property if insurance has paid me?
My home was burglarized and the insurance is gunna send my check in the mail soon,the thing is the cops might have caught the guy we thought it was.If it is in fact the right guy and i do recover my property do i have to send the check back or what do i do cuz im kinda wanting to get another tv anyway.

Of course…you must pay back the insurance company. If you do not, this is VERY easy for the insurance company to find out since they have the police case number already in their system. A 5 minute follow-up call and you are busted for insurance fraud. Just a warning in case you were having such thoughts.

You either have to send the money back, or give the stuff to the insurance company.
Officially, once the insurance pays for something, it becomes theirs, so they are entitled to any recovered property, if they want it. As a practical matter, they would probably much prefer for you to return the money to them.
